Rev. Terry Smoak, Pastor

Pastor Terry Smoak is a native of Bamberg, SC where he graduated from Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School.  Terry received his undergraduate degree from Charleston Southern University, and completed his graduate work at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.  He has pastored churches in North and South Carolina.  Pastor Terry is married to Lori (Townsend) Smoak, a Gifted and Talented Teacher at Hopkins Elementary School, and they have three awesome teenagers:  Hannah , Leah, and Luke.  In his spare time, Terry enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, and following sports – especially the SC Gamecocks!

Craig Duensing, Minister of Music and Outreach

Craig and Jane Duensing have been married 33 years this past July. They have two children: Bryan, a PE Teacher and Rebecca, a Promoter with the Professional Bull Riders. Craig and Jane both have bachelor' and master's degrees in music. Craig was a bi-vocational minister of music for 37 years while he taught choral music. He is in his third year at KPBC. They both enjoy their careers as musicians and serving the Lord through these talents. They love traveling and just being together.

Kathy Peckham, Director of Children's Ministries

Kathy Peckham is a native South Carolinian. She is married and has two sons. She graduated from Columbia College and earned a master degree in elementary education from the University of South Carolina. She has taught for more than thirty years and especially enjoys integrating the Word of God into everyday life. She enjoys walking her three dogs, watching Carolina sports (Go Gamecocks), visiting the beach and making crafts.

Alyson Fort, Church Organist

 Alyson Fort is married to Bill Fort and they  have 3 boys, Matthew, Seth and Samuel. Alyson is also a teacher of 29  years and loves using her music in the classroom everyday. Alyson considers  being the organist at KPBC one of the greatest blessing in her life! Alyson  also enjoys playing the flute and piano and cheering on her beloved  Gamecocks! 

Alise Daniel, Church Secretary

Alise Daniel might be new as a staff member but she grew up at Kilbourne Park Baptist Church.   One of Alise’s greatest joy in serving the Lord has been working in the nursery on Sunday mornings  and even having the privilege of seeing her Sunday School children come back with their children.

 

She enjoys spending time with her 2 sons, Jimmy and Brian and their families and especially her 5 grandchildren.  In her spare time she enjoys reading and biking.

Micah Mercer

Micah Mercer is originally from Tucson, Arizona, but has lived in nine cities across four countries to date. He served the Army as a Satellite Communications Specialist, completed his Bachelor of Theology at Sydney Missionary and Bible College, and served churches in Australia, the UAE, and South Korea. He is currently finishing his Master of Divinity in Global Studies at Columbia International University. Micah and his wife Yujin have two daughters: Leah and Rinah. Micah loves teaching the Bible, reading, DIY projects, travelling, camping, coffee, baking, and trying new foods.

 

Stephanie Pantoja, Director of Weekday Preschool

Stephanie Pantoja is a native of North Carolina.  She began working in preschools  in 2003 when she moved to South Carolina.  She is married to CSM retired Billy Pantoja.  They have five children: Caleb, Lilly Grace,Molly Kate,Olivia and Ty. Having the opportunity to share the great love of Jesus with children brings her much joy!

Jackie Townsend, Church Pianist

Jackie has been playing for churches since she was ten years old.  She is a graduate of Furman University where she received a degree in education and music.  She has been married for 48 years to Luther K. Townsend, former band director and music minister.  She has three children – Kes (Jodi), Lori (Terry), and Kevin (Ann), and five grandchildren – Hannah, Leah, Luke, Piper, & Providence.  All of the family members are musical and enjoy getting together to play and sing.
